Villa M is a contemporary Scandinavian farmhouse style homestead in Portland’s southwest hills.

A series of architecturally familiar structures with distinct functions are carefully positioned on the site to take advantage of sunlight and prevailing winds while also establishing privacy and generous living arrangements.

The main and largest building features a large skylight in the peak to create a dramatic entry that showers light from above while linking the kitchen, dining, rear yard and upper level.

The finishes are carefully selected to provide durability, longevity and a sense of timelessness. The façade cladding will naturally fade in time with exposure to weather and sunlight resulting in a protective silvery gray finish while the interior wood remains subtle and warm.
